CONCEPT

Since the ancient time, people have painted the light in the form of layers of paint, and have represented the divinity in golden light.

his [God’s] invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable. (Romans 1:20)In accordance with this sentence in the Bible, using paint and gold leaves complementary, I try to represent our divine connection in which humans know the God through his creations and know how to behave through the divinity.

In a long history, people have produced a variety of artworks which includes light in them, in attempt to affirm the relationship with the God. But unfortunately, some of such artworks are inappropriate in God’s eyes. In many cases, the form of worship was distorted for some reasons and these artworks have been used for iconolatry which is clearly forbidden by the God in the Exodus 20:4-5. However, when you closely observe the reasons for those behaviors, we can find the nature of humans that we simply seek for the God. So, my paintings represent this pure nature of humans in the new, alternative forms. These works are aimed to help the painting repossess the original divine purpose.
